Anatomy

Anatomy is the branch of biology and medicine that the review of the structure of living things. It is a broad term that includes human anatomy, animal anatomy (zootomy) and plant anatomy (phytotomy). In some aspects of the anatomy that is closely related to embryology, comparative anatomy and comparative embryology, through common roots in evolution.

Anatomy is subdivided into gross anatomy (or macroscopic anatomy) and microscopic anatomy anatomy.Gross (also called topographical anatomy, regional anatomy, or anthropotomy) is the study of anatomical structures can be considered without the vision the naked eye. [1] is the science of microscopic anatomy minute anatomical structures with microscopes, including histology (science of the organization of cells), and cytology (cell science).

The story was one of the anatomy, over time, continue to develop understanding of the structure and function of organs in the body. Method also increased dramatically, the progress of the examination of animals through the cutting of cadavers (dead bodies) to technologically complex techniques developed in the 20th century, including X-rays, ultrasound and MRI .

Anatomy can not be with pathology (also called morbid anatomy or histopathology), which is the science of the macroscopic and microscopic appearance of the body sick.

Human anatomy

Human anatomy, including gross human anatomy and histology, is primarily of scientific studies of the morphology of the adult human body.

Generally, students in biological sciences, paramedics, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses and medical students learn gross anatomy and microscopic anatomy from anatomical models, butterflies, books, paintings, photographs, lectures and tutorials. Science microscopic anatomy (or histology) can be supported by practical experience in preparation for histologic examination (or slides) under the microscope, and in addition, medical students generally also learn gross anatomy with a practical experience of dissection and inspection bodies (death of the human body).

Human anatomy, physiology and biochemistry are complementary basic medical sciences, which is taught to medical students in first year at medical school. Human anatomy can be taught at regional or systemic, which is, respectively, to learn the anatomy of the body regions such as the head and chest, or the study of specific systems, such as the nervous or the respiratory system. Hand book of Anatomy, Gray’s Anatomy, has recently completed a reorganization of the structure of the system to the format, in line with modern teaching methods. A good knowledge of anatomy is required by all doctors, especially surgeons and physicians working in specialties diagnosis, such as histopathology and radiology.

Academic human anatomists are usually used by universities, medical schools or teaching hospitals. They are often involved in teaching anatomy and research on a particular system of organs, tissues or cells.
